Ann Joyner Selden, 97, passed away peacefully July 31, 2010 in Roanoke Rapids, NC. She was born April 5, 1913 in Garysburg, NC one of fifteen children of William Henry and Mary Suiter Joyner. She was preceded in death by her husband William W. Selden, Sr.

Mrs. Selden was a devout Methodist and served her church faithfully her entire life in thought, word and deed.

Surviving is her daughter, Tempe Selden Bowles and her husband, Charles P. of Richmond, VA; her son, William W. Selden, Jr. and his wife, Lucelia, of Raleigh; her sister, Constance Joyner Metcalf of Weldon; grandchildren, Daniel S. Smith, McClain Selden Percy and Ann Selden Ashby; great-grandchildren, William Adrian Percy and Lucelia Grace Percy; step-grandsons, Charles and Lee Bowles and their families.

Family graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 3, at 1:00 p.m. at the Garysburg United Methodist Church Cemetery in Garysburg, NC with Rev. Sue Owens officiating.

The family is grateful to her caregiver and friend Gloria Cooper.
